Right so instead of continuing my offseason bodybuilding log thought I should start a new one with my change in focus towards powerlifting/strength.

Don't really have any plans to go back on stage and compete in bodybuilding, had some good times and learnt so much from the journey getting on stage for the last 3 years but I don't feel I can get much more out of starving myself for months and feel after experiencing it a few times the detrimental effects far outweigh the positive side of the sport.

So time to turn a new page and get strong. I'm a lifetime drugfree lifter and if/when I compete I will go with Powerlifting Australia - our IPF afiliate. I don'thave any meets planned right now just want to get some good progress. Have done a few meets in the past my best meet lifts are S 180 B 112.5 D 220 - right now my squat is having some issues hit 170kg at last test but gone back from weightlifting shoes to flats and taking some time to get the strength back in the transition.

Short term goals are a 160kg beltless kneesleevless squat 120 paused bench and 230 deadlift - hope to hit in the next 2 months

long term goals are 580 total in 83kg weight class, 200 squat 140 bench 250 deadlift - 12-18months

anyway enough blabbing and getting into it!

Weight 85-86kg

Deadlifts
60x6
100x6
140x3
160x2
180x3
add belt
200x5 - pb
205x3 -pb

bench
barx10
60x5
80x3
90x1
100x1
102.5x4x3 (rep and volume pb)
102.5 x5 - pb

good session got a new barbell - Force USA crosstraining weightlifting bar - really impressed with the quality it's made to IPF specs knurling is great, awesome finish and switching to the stiff bar from my texas deadlift bar made a massive difference hitting these pb's, stiff bar works better for me for sure.

cheers man,

really basic setup really not a whole lot of room to work with sadly but I like keeping it simple anyway haha,

-power rack with flat bench - got bar for pullups and dip handles that attach
-few bumper plates and at least 300kg in rest of the plates
- few dumbells 10kg pair and adjustable set - might get some heavier ones but find I dont really need more for the accessory work I do,
- got a few crates set up against a wall around the back for box jumps
- texas deadlift bar and couple of standard barbells

where's your log gone man training going okay?

Sounds good like a good setup, one day if I have the room and ever have kids I might get a similar setup to make training a bit easier.

Training is pretty good, really hypertrophy focused stuff though, doesn't make for the most interesting log haha

Be good to see how much you can add to you lifts over the next year or so, if you can stay injury free should add a lot I would think.

In on this benn will be following closely. As Riley said if you stay injury free you should make some good increases I reckon.
Have you tried your "slingshot" yet mate?

Following this mate. I hear you re: the dieting (and as you know I haven't even competed).
Keen to follow your progress and learn a thing or two, as I might compete in PL one day myself.

Yeah fair enough man unless you're posting updated pics bit hard to follow progress in a bb log glad it's going good for you though man :). Man I think id find it hard to go back to a commercial gym training at your own place just takes away a lot of the stress I know I won't have to wait for a squat rack or bench and feel like I need to be out of the way in a certain period of time.
Thanks mate I tried it yesterday honesty didn't like it one bit I am very specific how I set up for bench and couldn't get myself stabilised to unrack properly can see how it overloads but not my cup of tea haha.
Shit yeah bro!
Awesome cheers man!
Thanks brother will try to keep the odd vid going
up appreciate the kind words don't know about a walk in the park but keen to put the work in and see where I go with it.

Fair enough mate, I love mine but everyone's different. I see Harris have brought out their version called "recoil" aswell. So there's a few types out there now.
Keen to see how things progress mate.

Sorry man somehow missed your comment! Thanks dude from the pics I've seen of you, you wouldn't need to change much to get on stage so no doubt you've felt the joys of dieting haha don't know if there's much you could learn off me but thanks for following along should be some fun!

Haha damn everyone is getting in on it mark bell will be loving that - I don't know I might have got a size too small but it just felt super awkward might give it a go another day and might work better.
Mate would def be interested I like training solo but always good to have a session with a few, what time do you train there?

Weight - 86kg

Good session today had a shocker yesterday missed 150 squat and dropped it on my spotter bars bent them awful so gonna be getting a new power rack since I was overdue for an upgrade anyhow.

Squats today:
60x5
80x3
100x3
Add sleeves
120x3
130x1x2
140x1
Add belt
150x3
160x2
170x1

The 170 was slow but felt good first time in months using belt and sleeves so was good to see where I was at, going to leave 170 as my training max and keep rolling with prilepins seems to be working well now.

Bench
60x5
70x1
80x1
87.5x6x4

benn how do you find the stance for your deads? Did you take this stance when prepping for bodybuilding or did you approach with a traditional stance

Fk yeah bro up the irons been listening to them since I was 12 seen them in 2011 always amp me up at the gym

Thanks man keen for some good beard gainz this year hopefully strength can follow suit.

Sumo stance is good man it takes a lot of pressure off the lower back which is why I like it can train with it multiple times a week with better recovery. More glute/hips dominant then back I used it for bb too but I think conventional stance is important too so good to incorporate both.

Morning weight 85.9

Deads (conventional beltless)

60x5
100x3
140x3
160x4x4

Bench
60x5
80x3
92.5x6x4

Few Pull-ups and curls happy days
