Assuming you didn't get to your natural limit and you came off a number of years ago, hormones etc are back to normal. Is it possible to still gain?

Well this is almost the exact position I am in right now, I was on trt for about 3 years and did some other aas during that time.

I have been off trt for about 3 years now, hormones are back to normal and I am making gains, I've got to work hard for them but they are comeing.

    I'm 45 mate.

Since comeing off trt my test generally sits around 12-14 total test and around 200 free ttest.

Last time I had it checked I got a pleasant surprise, total test was 22 and free test was 390.

Blackstone labs pct v was responsible for the increase, also getting to a lower body fat than I have been previously would have helped I reckon.

Yeh I was very happy with those numbers, will be having another test in a couple of weeks so we'll see if I've managed to keep it up there.

curious, why do you think you wouldn't be able to gain? hormones are not the be all and end all of muscle gain.

Natties gain so you will continue to gain natty...

Random fact, a bit of research actually suggests that steroids can have a permanent effect on muscle receptor sites (using AAS increasing your natural levels) meaning that post AAS you actually have more than you previously did natty, so this indicates an increased capacity to put on muscle mass. A few people associate this as to why people who were seasoned AAS users tend to have potent "muscle memory" when getting back on the grind.

Shit, 22 is amazing hahah. Do you mind if I ask how you sourced your TRT? i.e. which doctor you saw and what the process was?

I got on trt back in 2012, it was a pretty simple process back then as long as you had a doctor on your side.

I just got on it through my gp, I believe this is no longer the way it works however.
I believe you now have to go through an endo, @stakkerz may be able to give you some better advice on how it all works now.

Yes, most pharmacies won't even accept your test script or even anti estrogens without proof from an endo unfortunately.

Although not impossible, took me about 10 Drs abouts, to find one who would treat me for my symptoms, although I did provide low blood level tests of course.

    I got lucky.

Although about 7 yrs ago when living in cronulla Sydney, I randomly showed up at a bulk billing Dr and said I had low test symptoms, and without even a blood test she wrote me a script for sustenon with 3 repeats lol. I felt like I had won the lotto.

If anyone needs help and are in qld, feel free to message me and I can point you in the right direction.

If there even are any decent members on this board besides @blindbodybuilder that is. This place is a ghost town.

I attended a q n a session with John meadows whilst over in America and this specific question was asked. He basically said, after the age of 25 your natural test starts to slowly decline.

If your 40, unless your hormones are in the higher or adequate ranges, you won't build Muscle. Noticeable Muscle that is.

Of course you can change your body comp with diet and exercise but the ability to gain Muscle and lose fat is almost none.

I reached this conclusion at 30 however. No matter how hard I trained ate and slept, without optimal hormone levels your basically treading water till you sink.

Haha very interesting reply from someone who hasn't been natty during that process hey (re: meadows).

Obviously I'm not saying hormones don't play a role, but they're definitely not the be all and end all. Saying you can't build muscles in your 40's is just wrong.

One of guys on here who everyone would rate his physique as good used to run around with a test level sitting between 8-12, which is definitely on the low end, he made muscle easy.

I'm not saying you didn't have issues, whatever they are, if you feel better blaming hormones, power to you. But really, once you fixed this, did you suddenly become a shredded beast? or did it just allow for better calorie optimization?

Reality is we have physics and physiology that depicts our human capabilities and we have plenty of mechanisms to develop muscle other than testosterone.

Again im not saying hormones don't matter or can't help with situations, but its definitely not impossible when leaving them unmolested.
