Anyone have comments about/experience with stronglifts 5x5?? https://stronglifts.com/5x5/#321553215312153

I’m starting to lean towards wanting to gain strength as a priority of my training and consider competing in powerlifting if I get strong enough... Fierce 5 is a good program with the 3 big lifts in it, but it has all the other ancillary exercises I’m not really interested in... Kinda just want to squat, bench, deadlift and shoulder press...

    Advice appreciated.

Edit: I mention Fierce 5 as that is what I have been using currently as a beginner program

5x5 rocks man. I've done it a couple of times over the years. Im now 52 and started it again 10 weeks ago. I'm now squatting 95 kg for 5x5. It's all you need IMO. I chuck chinups, pullups and dips into it as well.

It's an amazing training system, I did it around 8 years ago and had a lot of progress. Weight progression is one of the most effective methods to build muscle and strength!

I am by no means a experienced lifter but have been lifting on and off for along time but I do 5x6 and only work out same muscle group once a week then full week recovery

And have had huge strength growth this way

Yeah. I had a full week off recently and noticed that I was stronger when I came back.

Hey guys, I just started 5x5 (using the app) and not sure if the starting weights are supposed to be quite so low?
